I've been contracting for a big financial services software company here in Baton Rouge. Their Database administrator (DBA) quit recently, and I got temporarily promoted to the job of DBA. This is flattering, because it's a big job and not really my specialty. It's also a bit overwhelming, for those reasons and because I don't have the 11-year head start that the last guy had. For the past two weeks, it's been my job to understand the company's database so that I can work with it.

Here's a diagram of the database; the specs at the edges are individual tables, and the lines are relationships between them.

So I'm a little busy at work!
