Back to Work
So we're home - or I am, anyway. Katrin left for an externship in Atlanta yesterday. I just talked to her - she says the practice she's working at (for the next 2 weeks) is huge, and has lots of nice equipment and seven interns to work with. It should be a good learning experience.
I had lunch with the boss Friday. They're going to keep me on, which means I'll be working from home when we move to Auburn - a new experience for me. It will be a good excuse to buy more toys, because I'm obviously going to need a new LCD monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse, and who knows what else. A stereo - I'll need a good stereo. With surround sound, and two sets of speaker outputs, so one set can go in the office.
Rome was great! It was a mix of things I expected, and things I didn't. The drivers and traffic live up to their reputation; we were glad we didn't rent a car. Our taxi driver was insane. We walked back and forth accross Rome countless times - I mowed the law yesterday and was still feeling it. Who knew the Sistine Chapel was just a big rectangular room? I was expecting something more architecturally stimulating. The pictures were nice, though. We were looking forward to a lot of good Italian food, but I gotta say, I like what us Americans have done with it. I just like my pasta and my pizza with more stuff on it! I've talked to several people who liked the food in other Italian cities better, so we'll have to go back someday. So many cities, so little time...
I know everyone is waiting for pictures - I'm still trying to gather them all, then I'm going to put a bunch of them on the website, so stay tuned!
