Packing
Jim and I have spend the last 4 days packing...blah!! We have a lot of stuff, especially books! And it just dawned on me that in a few days, we get to unpack all the things we just packed-crazy! We're getting the UHaul on Friday, and plan on leaving early Saturday morning for Auburn. I am super excited about the prospect of moving though--we have heard so many nice things about Auburn, especially about all the mountainbiking and road riding there, which is supposed to be awesome. I am also excited about stopping by the CVM (College of Veterinary Medicine) sometime next week to meet some of the people I will be working with.
Colbert has taken all of our packing efforts in stride. She has to sit in every open box at least once before I can close it, and even jumped onto a very large suitcase that was standing upright. After sitting on top of the suitcase and looking around for a little while, she attempted to climb into the front pocket of said suitcase. Poor The Kid, I guess she never did understand physics (maybe she can take some lessons from my dad-she'd be super smart The Kid after that!). So the whole suitcase, with her half-way in the front pocket toppled over onto the living room floor. She got up and, cool cat that she pretends to be, licked her paw and walked off like nothing ever happened, while Jim and I were sitting on the couch laughing. I am sure that if cats could whistle, she would have been whistling a sweet tune to herself while meandering off...
Here's a picture of her napping amongst some of the boxes.
