Intern dinner

The 4 other interns and I got together for dinner tonight, so that we could meet and greet before our orientation which starts on Thursday. Everyone is really nice, and I think we're all going to have a great time this next year. I already knew Brandy (we have been friends since undergrad) and Christy (she is from North Carolina, and she stayed with Jim and me for a few days last fall when she was looking at different internship programs). The other interns are Amie (originally from Connecticut, went to vet school in Tennessee), and Meghan (from Texas A&M). Like I said, all of them are really nice!

Other than that, I've been enjoying my last week of sitting on the couch doing nothing...We went back to Oak Mountain to do some more riding this past weekend, and it was fabulous. We've also spent some time getting accustomed to Auburn's version of Snowballs. Jim and I are huge fans of New Orleans Snowballs, and were very sad about not being able to get them up here in AL. However, I discovered a small store that sells "Hawaiian style shaved ice," which is about as close to a snowball as we're going to get around here. It's definitely not the same, but it'll do for a year (or 4...).

Hawaiian-style shaved ice...

I'd be suspicious. Can you get chocolate shaved-ice with condensed milk? If so, then all's well in AL.
