Mountain biking

This past weekend, Jim and I rode the Swayback mountainbike trail, which is about 30 minutes north of Montgomery. It was awesome! We had a very nice trail in Baton Rouge, but the hills here in Alabama make riding so much more interesting! We also met a super cool guy named Ed who showed us around the trail a little bit. I got a little worried when he told us that the trail work day scheduled for the day after our ride had been postponed because "the snakes are too bad..." You all know how I feel about snakes--yikes! However, I conquered my fears, and we didn't see a snake the entire 3 hours we were riding. I guess we used Swayback mainly to whet our appetites--this weekend we are planning a trip to Oak Mountain which is just south of Birmingham. The trail there is supposed to be the best in AL, and one of the best in the nation. It is the site of the annual "Bump and Grind" mountainbike race...oh how I would love to race there next year!!!
That's about it from Auburn...I have to go to main campus now to fill out an "Alien Employment Form." Are they worried I'm going to stick probes in the dogs and cats I treat and then whisk them away in my German-engineered super efficient UFO, leaving only a stethoscope-shaped crop circle in the horse pasture across from the vet school?! Who knows!!
Cheers,
Katrin

I'm rolling on the floor laughing at your Alien Employment Form comment. Those German-engineered UFOs are SO hard to track!

Have fun riding Oak Mountain!
