Today was my first day of work. The clinic was actually closed for the 4th of July holiday, but my internmate Dr. Huy and I saw quite a few emergencies during our 10 hour shift. I had a great day-I've always enjoyed emergency and critical care work, and today was really a lot of fun (especially because the residents and clinicians were all so helpful and supportive). We'll be back on tomorrow for another (hopefully) interesting and busy day.

The Kid has been getting oodles of attention for the last month when I was home all day long, and I think she really missed me today. Jim told me she kept going into his office and staring at him. She's probably wondering why no one is there to give her belly rubs (she loves those!) every time she cries or acts cute! Poor semi-abandoned The Kid! I would stick my tongue out too if I were she...
