Animation
Our long-time readers - all four of you - may remember Peanut the wombat. "The Nut" has been the subject of many goofy photos, but has only made that one appearance on the blog. I'm a little embarrassed by how much fun we have with the wombat doll.
Well, I recently found some software that makes time-lapse and stop-motion videos with a webcam. Katrin is on overnights, and it would appear that I have way to much time on my hands. So The Nut is now a movie star.

Wow, I had to google that one. Peanut is indeed a wombat - he was a present to Christa from Volker, who brought him back from a business trip to Australia. For reasons I still can't explain, I found him to be incredibly funny, and Christa sent him home with us.
On our way back from Lake Superior last summer, we saw a small animal in the field next to our motel somewhere in Ohio. The dogs (Goofch and DOTi) tracked the thing like it was the best smelling animal they had ever sniffed. We weren't sure what it was, so we started calling it a wombat. Of course, geography told us it was actually either a groundhog or a woodchuck (whistle-pig).
